Week Six Theme :: The Changing Nature of Work | Interfaith


Saadia Zahidi

Head of Education, Gender and Work System Initiative World Economic Forum Saadia Zahidi is the head of Education, Gender and Work System Initiative, and a member of the executive committee, at the World Economic Forum. She is also the author of Fifty Million Rising: The New Generation of Working Women Transforming the Muslim World. At the World Economic Forum, Zahidi’s areas of focus include education and skills, the future of work, gender parity, income inequality, and inclusion, and she co-authors the forum’s Future of Jobs, Global Gender Gap, and Global Human Capital Reports. She has served as an economist in the forum’s Global Competitiveness Programme, led the Gender Parity Programme, and headed the Civil Society community. Zahidi’s honors include the inaugural Financial Times and McKinsey Bracken Bower Prize for young business authors for her business book proposal, and twice being named to BBC’s 100 Women list, in 2013 and 2014.

Zahidi earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Smith College, a master’s in international economics from Graduate Institute Geneva, and an MPA from Harvard University.

Living and working from a base in Warsaw, Poland, he is known around the world for his ability to connect with leaders and front-line staff in bringing about profound individual breakthroughs and workplace-wide transformations.
